What is a responsive, mobile-friendly or mobile ready website!?

All 3 words mean the same thing. A mobile-friendly website is a website that adapts to be readable and functional on different screen sizes and devices.

Since the arrival of smartphones, tablets and other smaller screens many older websites can not cope with the different screen sizes, don’t look good and content is not readable a lot of the time (text to small). There is also the issue of slow loading times because the images haven’t been sampled for a small screen and are usually way to big, slowing the user experience and causing them to give up in many cases.

We probably all visit sites now and again that still aren’t mobile ready and this can be a pain waiting for the page to load, only to find out it is tiny text that you keep end up zooming and scrolling, just to read it. All sites we build today are mobile-friendly.

All websites that we build today are mobile-friendly and fast. All content fits perfectly in a nice layout on the screen, is clearly readable and works perfectly.

What is an e-commerce website!?

Basically a website that is set-up to sell goods or services. An e-commerce website needs extra tools and security to handle payments, customer info, orders etc.

There are many ways of setting up an e-commerce website, you can start from scratch (most expensive route) or in most cases use an online platform that can provide you with all these services for a monthly fee. This will in most cases be the best option because of many different factors: The cost will be significantly lower; A whole team of programmers updating the system and security regularly, A complete back-end system in place, usability, template updates, integration with Adwords, analytics, product promotions, etc.

We use a varied amount of systems and platforms to get the best result for your business.
But don’y worry, we will help you put the bits of puzzel into place when the time comes.

What is SEO!?

Good question you may ask, and the answer is simple and complicated at the same time. SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is basically tuning your website so it can easily be found by Google and other search engines and thus also your potential customers. SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is basically tuning your website so it can easily be found by Google and other search engines and thus also your potential customers. Search Engine Optimisation is quite a big task, but moreover a very important task.

There are millions and millions of sites that search engines categorise and your site has to be up there. Depending on your product and how many competitors there are for the top places can make SEO harder or easier to implement, that is why it can be a big chunk of the work if it is to be done properly. It’s also something that takes time and needs updated regularly. The tools and algorithms are continuously being updated and changed.

What is Online Advertising!?

Here the answer is also simple and complicated at the same time. Online advertising is basically all the kinds of advertising you can encounter when you are using the internet in some form or way.

This can be using a search engine (paid search ads), using an app on your phone (banner ads), visiting certain sites (banners ads). Just think of Google search engine, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, sponsored sites and blogs, apps on your smartphone, etc.

Nowadays a lot is also crossover between online and offline advertising. Finding out what will work for you is the most important thing. Because doing absolutely everything is not only expensive, but time-consuming and most relevant of all, not necessary in most cases.

What do https, domain name, webserver mean!?

The “s” in Https is an extra layer of security for your website. If you connect to a website that has https instead of http in the website address bar, it has a secure connection and if you send information to this website (name, address, sensitive info) in would be through a secure encrypted connection to a secure website.
All e-commerce sites or sites handling sensitive info should be using https. On our newest websites we use https, regardless of the fact about info being sent or not.

A domain name is the name you will use to identify your company, organisation or person on the internet. We include this within our hosting accounts, but additional domain names can also be ordered.

A webserver is where all the files and info are concerning your website; website pages, domain name, control panel, email and user configurations, security certificates, etc.

How Can We Help You!?

We design, develop and maintain many different websites and can help you with your project. We use transparent language you can understand and have clear policies when it comes down to quotes and prices.

If you have something you can’t find on our site, don’t worry it might be new to us, but we like new :-) We probably will want to do it, just so we know what it’s about.
